John Tirado es un músico norteamericano con residencia actual en Mallorca, donde en los últimos años ha estado al frente de The Nash, banda de rock enérgico en la que militan el británico Brett Lomas junto a Angel Cubero y Luis A. Segura (ambos en L.A.). The Nash hacen un alto tras 3 discos y un buen puñado de conciertos memorables junto a The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Buzzcocks y Lemonheads.

El debut en solitario de John Tirado es una obra impresionante. No es sólo el resultado de dos años de intenso trabajo de composición y producción con una excelsa lista de colaboradores. Es la gran obra de un artista extraordinario que debe ser reconocido de una vez por todas. Porque en ‘Slow-Motion Party’ se encuentra toda su sabiduría para construir música emocionante y eterna, el resultado de una trayectoria vital sostenida por una guitarra y una melodía, el ardor y el alma de un songwriter eléctrico que se nutre rock, folk, americana, jazz, fiereza e inteligencia para crear una obra genial, estimulante y sin fisuras.

Cada nota, cada arreglo, cada estrofa está tejida con una clarividencia asombrosa. ‘Oh Jodie’ y ‘High Definition’ dibujan la melancolía del amor con trazos esponjosos. En ‘All the lazy stars’ y ‘Gang of one’ participa Norbert Nimpel, saxofonista de la banda de Joe Cocker, para convertir a John Tirado en un crooner por horas. Otro fino estilista como Dani Roth, que ha tocado el piano con los Platters en Nueva York, aporta su contrastada clase a piezas como ‘Let me take you home’ y ‘Who makes you stay’. Tal vez ‘Suddenly’ y ‘Take it to the grave’ (con guitarras de Pablo Ochando, de La Granja) sean las canciones más ‘the nash’ del disco. Es decir, pura fibra y estribillos directos al corazón.

El chello de Chus Coll Moreta en cortes como ‘On my radar’ son una clave más del seductor embrujo de ‘Slow-Motion Party’. Por no hablar del refinado respaldo vocal que la danesa Djana Vallespir y la española Rosa Lopez-Francos aportan al trabajo. Gotas de elegancia femenina en ‘Dissolve’ y ‘Winter by the sea’ para una gran voz como la de John, que luce espléndida, matizada y personal a lo largo de todo el álbum. Mención aparte merece ‘Sleepy Head’. Porque resume como ninguna la magia y la clase de ‘Slow-Motion Party’ y porque ha sido la elegida para realizar un video clip realmente espectacular dirigido por Gareth Hall.

John Tirado is an American musician from New York but now resident in Mallorca, where in recent years has been at the forefront as the leader of The Nash, energetic rock band that has made a high after 3 albums and a string of memorable concerts throughout the world with Joe Cocker, The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Buzzcocks and Lemonheads to mention a few.

The solo debut of John Tirado is an impressive work. It's not just the result of two years of hard work and production ended with a sublime list of contributors. It is, indeed, the great work of an extraordinary artist to be recognized once and for all. Because 'Slow-Motion Party' is all his wisdom to build exciting and timeless music, the result of a life trajectory and sustained by a guitar melody, the warmth and soul of a songwriter that draws electric rock, folk, Americana, jazz, ferocity and intelligence to create a work of genius, inspiring and seamless.

Songs like 'Oh Jodie' and 'High Definition' draw the melancholy of love sponge strokes. 'All the lazy stars' and 'Gang of One’ adds Norbert Fimpel, saxophonist for the band, Joe Cocker and James Brown, to turn John Tirado into a crooner for hours. Another fine stylist, Dani Roth, who has played the piano with the Platters in New York, brings his class to 'Let me take you home'. Maybe 'Suddenly' and 'Take It to the grave' are more in the style of 'the nash' in the album. That is, addictive and anthemic choruses right to the heart.

The cello of Chus C. Moreta in tracks like ‘On my radar’ are a key seductive spell over ‘Slow-Motion Party'. Not to mention the refined vocal support that the Djana Vallespir and Rosa Lopez-Francos bring to work. Drops of feminine elegance in 'Dissolve' and 'Winter by the sea' for a great voice like John, who looks splendid. Special mention should be 'Sleepy Head'. For summarized as magic and really unique in 'Slow-Motion Party' and because it has been chosen to perform a really spectacular video clip directed by Gareth Hall.
